Our Club

We welcome all swimmers who have progressed from a learn to swim programme.  All levels of swimming are catered for, whether they are ready to have a go at 25m races at Club Night or to compete at local meets right through to national and international competitions.

The club works alongside BWF Aquatics who have a highly qualified team of coaches led by Head Coach Sue Southgate.  Sue's coaching staff oversee stroke instruction across various squads and training sessions at both pools, 6 days a week, catering for all abilities from development to elite performance.

The competitive arm of the club is Team Aquabladz.  These swimmers travel to different swimming competitions over the season both nationally and internationally.

Swimmers need to be a member of a club to be able to compete at local and national meets. Aquabladz club provides the platform for swimmers wanting to attend these events by being a member of the club. The club is the entity that applies for funding and organises fundraising to assist swimmers when attending meets or camps (when it can).

BWF Aquatics provides the coaching, squad timetables and decides the pathway for the swimmer. Swimmers pay BWF directly for the coaching services.

Sue Southgate manages the Team Aquabladz entity which is used to pay accommodation and travel costs assiociated with travelling to meets. Swimmers pay Team Aquabladz directly to cover these costs.
